Christmas Morning

Konner and Kaylin were a little anxious to get started on the opening of the presents portion of the morning.

Instead of a Ginger Bread House, Konner and I made a foam house. Although it was more like I made it while Konner stood on the chair and handed me each piece after he had played with it. Maybe next year he'll get more involved in the actual building of the house.

This was Konner and Kaylin's Christmas tree before my family got to our house and added their gifts.

Konner has asked me a few times since Christmas when "sana cwaus is coming back". I didn't even know he knew who Santa Claus was until December. And I still have no idea how he learned about him!

On being POSITIVE and thankful...

My sister-in-law Liz has the best Blog. Every time I read it I am so impressed with what she does with it. She has this Thankful Sunday post that she does every Sunday, and I have liked it from the moment she has done it. I didn't want to be a thief, but...... Can I steal the idea from you Liz and use it? She also has a word of the year, and this year her word is "POSITIVE". I won't be stealing this idea from her but it made me realize just how not positive I have been this past year. And I think I need to take opportunities to remember what I am thankful for.

I am thankful for my husband and all that he does for our family. He works so hard to support us. And he loves us so much. I read this article about this man who threw his four children off a bridge because he was fighting with his wife. My heart goes out to this woman, and at the same time I am thankful for the love and devotion that Mike has for his children.

I am thankful for my son Konner. That kid is amazing. He keeps us laughing with his silly antics and the funny things he says. He loves to give me hugs and nose kisses. And I love receiving them.

I thankful for my daughter Kaylin. She is such a sweetheart. Heaven to Kay is being in mommy's arms. She gives hugs now too. And I love Kaylin hugs!

I am thankful for Dee, who let's me cry when I need to and then tells me what I need to hear, let that not be confused with what I want to hear!! She has known me my whole life and continues to love me.

I am thankful for Tammie and Stephanie, who are my girls. No matter where we are or what we are going through we find a way to be real friends. Real friends are hard to find and keep for a lifetime, and I am lucky to have two of them. When I have a hurt and I need a cry, they listen and then they do what every emotional girl needs.....they tell me what I want to hear! I love you girls!!

And I am thankful for my bishop. Wait....., hold on, not quite there with this one yet! I am still working on being thankful for my bishop who showed up at my house Wednesday night to tell me that he would like for me to speak on temples in Sacrament a week from this Sunday. I have not spoken in Sacrament in 6 years, and I am terrified of public speaking. But none the less, I'll be doing it. I'll be sick to my stomach, and I'll shake, and I'll even cry when it is over, but I'll be blessed for it, right???

We cancelled our Internet at home so I won't be able to be online much. Unfortunately that means I cannot update my sites for a while. At some point I'll be back, and I can even do a little Internet at work, but very little. We also have cancelled our home phone so any of you who want to get in contact with us you'll have to call our cell phones. I'll miss you.

Christmas...

I will be posting a few pictures from Christmas soon. My battery went dead in the camera and I need to get a new battery, so I have not been able to upload them onto my computer!

We had a very eventful day. My family all came to our house this year. We had 8 adults and 10 kids, so it was chaotic!! My family came in early in the morning and Konner woke up shortly after they got here. Konner went down the hall and into the living room and his eyes were huge! He was so excited for his "Pwismas Pwesents". Mike and I had a rough time getting him to sleep the night before because he wanted to open his presents from Santa. So we told him that Santa won't come bring his presents until he goes to sleep and that his presents will be there in the morning. He laid on his bed and after a few minutes he told me that he was awake now and ready for his presents!! LOL. He has been in heaven since Christmas playing with his new cars and trains. Kaylin got some great things. I even put some cars of her very own in her stocking. She has not touched one of her Christmas presents. She just wants to play with and in anything and everything her brother is playing with. Which is total upset for Konner.

When evening came we all piled into our cars to head to my aunt's house. Mike and I were almost to the exit to get to her house when my sister called me. Every member of my family was involved in an 8 car accident. They were few miles behind us in 3 cars. And all 3 of their cars were in this accident. Luckily everyone was ok, but my brother's car.....not so much.

Very eventful day, wouldn't you say?

The most amazing Christmas lights!

There is a neighborhood that is about half an hour from our house that has the most amazing Christmas decorations. We took the kids to see this neighborhood. They loved it.

Konner was getting a better view up on Papa's shoulders than he was in his stroller!!

Poor Kay Kays was so tired. It was way past her bedtime!

25 and holding!

So I am not one of those women who does and will grow old gracefully. I'll enter old age kicking and screaming the whole way!! But inspite of my inability to think positively about old age, I did have a great day!!

My friend Jill has a birthday 4 days before I do. And each year I like to do something special for her to show her just how much I love her. So the night before her birthday I went over to her house late and I decorated the outside a little for her. She turned 50 this year. I thought it would be special to share that with the world. So I had little happy birthday signs and little hanging 50 signs and a bouquet of balloons with a lone 50 in the middle. I even had a sign on a stick that announced Jill had turned 50. She called me early the next morning just thrilled! Her husband is always most helpful. He laughs at my good times and makes her keep the decorations up. So Saturday morning rolled around, and my house was left untouched. I was amazed, but very much ok with that. Saturday afternoon rolled around and when I went outside I saw my own house decorated. In brood daylight!!! How did no one hear this happening I ask you!!!????? And the best part is, she recycled!! She reused my decorations. I AM NOT 50!!!

My friend Tammie made this amazing cake for Kaylin!! It's so adorable. And it is a real Strawberry shortcake doll in the cake. And it smells like the Strawberry Shortcake doll. I keep smelling it. Thank you Tammie, I love it!

My husband is so good at the roses thing. I love roses. Absolutely love them. And he gave me the sweetest card I think he has ever given me. I keep rereading it. But he doesn't know that!!!

My big girl turned 1 the day before I turned 25 again. (He he he he he). We had her birthday party on my birthday. It worked out perfectly. She had her birthday party and then my family stayed late and we played games. We love Sequence. My cousin and I have an ongoing war. So far I am the queen, though she may try to deny that!!! LOL!

It was such a great day. I couldn't have asked for a better day.

Thank you everyone who came and shared Kay's and my day. Thank you Dave and Annie for taking the time to stop by. I know you guys had 50 other things to do.

The most disgusting book I have ever seen.

So a friend of mine gave Konner this book for his first birthday. I have kept the book pretty much hidden from Konner. Ok ok, my dining room table under some stuff isn't exactly hidden from a 2 year old who gets into everything. So anyway he found this book. And he was most definitely intrigued. I HATE this book. I hate it more than I hate "I'll Love You Forever"!!!! But of course Konner loves this book. This book is his current favorite book. Every night he says "Da poop book!!! Da poop book!!!" And every night I silently pray "Oh please not the poop book!! Please not the poop book!!!!!" As you can see it is not a pretty book.....
