Miracles

My sisters and I are all close to each other's kids. I love these kids like they are my own. The scariest thing for me is to get that call telling me something has happened to my husband, my kids, or my sisters kids. Getting that call made my heart stop.

These 3 kids are my sister Becky's kids. On the left is Austen - he is 7 now, then Chelsea - she is 11 now, and then JC - he is 13. J was diagnosed with Epilepsy about 2 years ago. He has been on medication and has done well. Several months ago he had another EEG done that showed that the Epilepsy was gone, so the neurologist and my sister and brother-in-law have been wheening him off of the medication. We were so grateful that he seemed to have grown out of the Epilepsy.

This past Tuesday JC was in the pool at school in PE class. He had a seizure and drowned. One if his closest friends was there when it happened, and he told my sister and brother-in-law that they all thought he was playing. It wasn't until J had been at the bottom of the pool for a few minutes that they realized he wasn't playing. The kids pulled him out of the water while another kid went and got the teacher. By that time J wasn't breathing. Someone did CPR on him and got him breathing again, but he wasn't breathing well. He was airlifted to the closest hospital. He was in critical condition and in a coma. My sister and brother-in-law were told that his lungs were damaged badly and that he could go either way. He couldn't breath enough on his own.

He woke up that same night. The next day, the tubes were removed, he was breathing on his own, and he continually got better. He was released from the hospital late yesterday, and he is home now. The school will be paying the medical bills and that poor teacher may just come back to school.

I am so grateful for miracles. Because this is truly a miracle. Tuesday we thought for sure we were going to lose him. He was in a coma for about 6 hours. The Dr told my family that he would get pneumonia, they were very grim. I love this kid. He is such a sweet heart. My kids love him.

I am grateful for the power of prayer and blessings. While I know the Lord's will will be done, I also know that He is aware of our fears and our feelings. I am so grateful for His compassion.

I am grateful for the miracle of my own children, for they are surely miracles! We love them so much.

I am grateful for the hard working potty trainer Julie! She did so much in potty training Konner. I actually only helped her. And she is working on potty training reluctant, don't wanna do it, little miss Kaylin. Again I am only helping Julie. I wouldn't even know where to begin without her.

And last but most definitely not least, I am grateful for my husband. He gave me exactly what I needed Tuesday night. He left me alone when I was numb and in shock, and he held me when I cried. I love you , Mike.

I found these two little sillies sitting in the storage tub looking at a book. How cute is that??? The video clip below is of Konner and Kay bouncing on their ball hoppers. They looooooove the ball hoppers!!
