I love pictures of my kids, but usually they do not cooperate. It's like pulling teeth to get them to pose. But I caught a few candid pictures of my two that I think are just so sweet.

Konner loves this kitten. He spends so much of his time chasing her wanting to hold her. We have been working on the correct way to hold the kitty, so I was so touched to see this site when I walked into the living. Konner and Keelie are watching Ice Age.

Kaylin really loves to take her brother's toys and take them off somewhere so she can play with them. I found her in the kitchen hidden almost by the fridge playing with the cars she managed to snake from her brother!

Isn't it amazing that such a little girl can make such a huge mess? She did this. All by her little self. Man, I am tired. What woman can work, take care of her children, and clean her house regularly

All in a hard day's work!

So I have been working for an old friend doing projects around his house. It's definitely been an experience. I'm a girly girl, I don't like dirt, and I hate to sweat. So what am I doing for my friend? Playing in the dirt and sweating!!!

He turned his swimming pool into a goldfish and Koi pool. It's really cool. It's so relaxing to sit by the pool and watch the fish and listen to the water from the waterfall.
Whenever we need anything from Home Depot, like today we needed gravel, I get into this huge truck and drive to Home Depot with my pigtails and try to convince the Mortor guy to give me sand in a bag and not to just dump it into the back of the truck.
Lately I have been working on a block retaining wall with Nikkie. Nikkie and I both work for Jim and his very manly projects.
I actually drove this Backhoe. Scared me a little, but it is definitely cool to say I drove that thing!
This thing is actually an unfinished waterfall into the fish pool. We built up the walls to it and built a little pond so there are two falls. But it isn't finished.
That's Pogo. He's always in the way.

So seriously, working for Jim has been hard at times, but I am defitely more well rounded than I was just 6 months ago. I still hate to sweat and I still hate dirt, but now I know how to build a retaining wall!!!

kitties in the house!

Meet Ambika. She's a lovely cat. Loves attention. In fact, she'll beg for it. She loves mommy (me). But she absolutely hates little people (Konner and Kaylin). And even more so, she HATES little cats!!
Meet Keelie (aka Black Kitty - according to Konner). She LOOOOVES to attack. She'll attack anything that moves. Including the hater of little kitties.
But Black Kitty doesn't care. She wants to play!! And she is bound and determined to get the hater kitty to play with her.
But unfortunately, she didn't succeed in her attempt of befriending Ambika. Poor little Black Kitty.....

So the little She Demon attacks me instead. And Mike says "Not so cute anymore, now is she? Look what you done got yourself into!" She's a vicious little kitten. I forgot how playful kittens are. I haven't had a kitten in 5 years, but this one does not keep her teeth off of me or out of me!

I wanted the kids to have a pet of their own, so I brought home Keelie. She's a tiny little ball of puff, and the kids just love her.

Before I was a mom...

Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations. Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night.. Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep. Before I was a Mom, I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put her down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom. Before I was a Mom, I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy. Before I was a Mom, I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

My aunt emailed this to me. I think it is great and just so absolutely right on. I got a little misty reading it.

Weekend at Grandma's

Konner has been begging to go to grandma's house. So this weekend I packed the kids up and we went to grandma's house. Mike and I decided that Konner could spend a few extra days at grandma's if he wanted. His friend Kayla, who is the same age, visited her grandma and grandpa for 4 days without her mom and she had a great time. So I thought that since Konner wanted to go to grandma's so bad that he would want to stay. Nope. He wanted to come home with me. That's ok. I am not ready to send him off.

They had a great time at grandma's. Here they are playing on a little trailor, getting in grandma's way while she gardens. Yes, my daughter is topless.

Kay loves grilled cheese and juice boxes. She is finally letting grandma and aunt Becky touch her. She even let them pick her up a few times. Kay is a mommy and daddy's girl. She doesn't let many people hold her.

Konner shared some of his Doritos with Logan. Logan loved them.

Konner loves "motor-cy-he-cles". He asked "Uncle Yulio" (Julio) ALOT to let him sit on his bike.

Konner update: The MRI was clean - Yay. And since Mike and I do not want to put Konner on medication, the neurologist says all we can do is just watch Konner and call him if/when Konner has another seizure. And he said that the good news is that since his seizures are all 5 minutes, that is considered a short seizure (doesn't feel short!) and so no brain damage will occur. The bad news is that he said Konner is experiencing some post traumatic stress over the MRI. Poor little guy.
