Beach Bums

It's that time of year again. The Rigby clan are all down at the beach for the week. Our family joined the rest on Saturday and stayed in this cute little hotel. We had the most amazing view right out of our window. Loved it!

Konner and Kaylin enjoyed play with the cousins and play on the beach. Fearless Kaylin ran right into the water and I had to rescue her twice from the clutches of waves. Konner dug holes and boogie boarded on the sand close to the water. Kylie hung out with Aunt Amanda and mommy. And me? Never really had a second to myself! But my kids sure did have fun. Woo - hoo!

Girls' Night * Pedicures and Movie

Since tonight is my last night with my nieces and nephew, we had a little girls' night. I gave the girls and myself a pedicure, and then we watched 27 Dresses. Anthony hung out with Mike while we enjoyed the pedicure portion of our girls night. And then he complained about our movie choice through the whole movie with us!

I'm going to miss you guys! I've loved having you here.
Bel, I'm going to miss our tickle nights. Really, I will. I promise.
Lexy, I am going to miss your sweetness with my girls.
Boo Boo, I am going to miss your funny sense of humor. You remind me so much of your mom and some of the silly things she and I used to do!
Love you guys! Kisses.

Corona Del Mar

I love the ocean. Absolutely. I love the sight, sound, and smell. If I could live on the beach, I would. To me, this is nature's beauty at its best. How could I ever leave California?

The kids have been begging to go to the beach. Living in California you would think we go frequently. But with 3 kids, especially 1 being a baby, I just can't get out there. And then there's the fact that beach + kids = dirty, sandy car. And who likes a dirty car? But today, I sucked it up and took my kids and nieces and nephew and met the twin cousins and their mother, and off we went to the beach. And it was fun.

Water play and cousins

We have this awesome park near us that has everything, including this little water park. It's so much fun!!
Even Kylie got to enjoy herself. And as bad as this looks, Kylie didn't get upset at all and went down the slide with her cousins a few times!

Kaylin was "swimming".
Even us big kids get to play! I haven't been on a water slide in years. When I was 10 I was flipped over and banged my head on the side of the CEMENT water slide. The result was 9 stitches and a scar over my eyebrow. I have been too afraid of these slides ever since, but I went down the green slide twice!

LA Zoo

My nieces and nephew are still visiting us. So we're still having as much fun as we can!

We love this zoo. We go fairly often.

I love water. Ocean, rivers, falls, faucets....as long as it's running, I love it!!!

Lazy days

I love days like these. Just relaxing and laying around.

* Konner was laying on the floor watching car racing with his dad.
* Kaylin fell asleep on the sofa in her sparkly tutu and leg warmers.
* Kylie is just laying around watching all that's going on around her outside.

Another day of cousin fun!

Today we went to the Aquarium of the Pacific. Really nice aquarium! Konner and Kaylin had a blast.

Love California!

The thing I love about summer (because it certainly isn't the weather!) is my nieces and nephews are on summer break from school. I love to have them come down to stay with me during their break. Last week I went to Shafter (Central California) to watch my oldest nephew graduate from 8th grade. I brought my niece Chelsea home with me. Yesterday I picked up my twin cousins, and tomorrow my niece Lexy and nephew Anthony are coming down. So we are doing fun things while they are here. My kids are in heaven!

Today we left my house and headed for the zoo. Halfway there it started raining. Now I love the rain, but the rain while at the zoo? Not so much! So we headed to the Aquarium. On our way there the sun came out and the temp made it up to 72, so we went to Santa Monica Pier instead.

This pier has a little carnival on it. The kids absolutely loved it.

The girls are on this roller coaster. If you click on it and make it larger you can actually see them.

Konner and Kaylin watching the girls ride the Scrambler.

I just love the Carousel. It's a classic!

Konner is sitting in the blue carriage. Kaylin was feeling brave though and rode a horse.

Kylie had fun watching all the excitement around her.

Fun day! Tomorrow we are going to the Aquarium. The girls said "Today was awesome! We had so much fun!"
